About Me
Julie Colvin

Author, Book Project Coach, Ghostwriter & Retreat Facilitator
After eleven years in the medical field as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer, in 2009 I embraced my passion for writing and engaged in a larger picture of health; one that involved holistic approaches for the mind, body and spirit. I became a wellness ambassador on my journey to find more balance in life.
I would not have imagined then that I would get swept up into the world of writing the way that I have now. On a serendipitous path to meet and learn from all of the right people at all the right times—book proposal coaches, writing teachers, editors and platform nerds—my journey to write a memoir, A Cure for Emma, began.
Fast forward, I got an agent and publisher on my first try and became a bestseller. Who knew! Since then, I created “Wellness & Writing Retreats,” to bring together the numerous people who reached out to me for help to write and share their stories. I’m honored to have helped over eighty writers at this point, in some capacity, to bring their stories to publication.
Currently, I’m a Marketing & Revisions Editor at New Degree Press, a next generation publisher and production agency for the new media landscape. I get to help new authors turn their first draft manuscript into a book they are proud of, and then help them launch it as a tool to drive outcomes in their lives, such as; dream jobs, speaking opportunities, podcast appearances, and more!
I consider myself to be a student of life and constantly strive to help create a world that is more mindful, starting with my own. I’m deeply grateful for a life that blends both my purpose & passion, and feel blessed to live next to the majestic Canadian Rockies.
As we share our stories, we pave the way to healing. Not just for ourselves, but for the world. ~ Julie xx
